Emergencies and urgent care
What should I do in a medical emergency?
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Examples include chest pain, trouble breathing, severe bleeding, fainting, signs of stroke, severe allergic reaction, or any symptom that feels severe or rapidly worsening.
What if I am in a mental health crisis?
Call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Telehealth visits are not appropriate for crisis or emergency care.
When should I go to urgent care instead of telehealth?
Go to urgent care or an emergency room for severe pain, high fever with worsening symptoms, dehydration, injuries, possible infections that may need in-person evaluation, severe symptoms in pregnancy, or anything that feels like it cannot wait.
General
Do you treat patients outside California?
No. Seavaint Health is a California-only telehealth practice. Patients must be physically located in California at the time of their visit.
What ages do you see?
We see adult patients. Contact us before booking if you are looking for care for a minor.
How soon can I get an appointment?
Next-day appointments are usually available, depending on the service and scheduling.
Is this site secure?
Yes. This website does not collect personal medical information. Booking, intake, and messaging happen through Optimantra, our HIPAA-aware patient portal.
Pricing & insurance
Do you accept insurance?
For psychiatry, yes. We accept Medicare directly and commercial insurance through Headway. For all other services, we operate as a cash-pay practice. We can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
How much is a visit?
Current pricing is shown in the patient portal at booking. See pricing overview.
Are labs and prescriptions included?
No. Lab and pharmacy costs are separate and depend on your lab and pharmacy provider.
Telehealth visits
What conditions can be treated online?
Many common conditions, including UTIs, BV, yeast infections, hair loss, hypothyroidism follow-up, GERD, anxiety, depression, ADHD evaluation, and psychiatry medication management. Some conditions require in-person care or testing.
What if telehealth is not the right fit?
If your clinician determines telehealth is not appropriate, you may be directed to in-person care, lab work, urgent care, or emergency care.
Can I get a prescription the same day?
If a prescription is clinically appropriate after your visit, same-day prescription routing may be available. Controlled substances may have added requirements.
Will I need lab work?
Sometimes. Lab work may be recommended for some conditions. Your clinician will tell you what is appropriate for your situation.
Psychiatry
How is psychiatry billed?
Medicare is billed directly through our practice. Commercial insurance is billed through Headway, which verifies eligibility and any copay before the appointment.
Can you prescribe psychiatric medication online?
When clinically appropriate, yes. Controlled substances may have added requirements. Prescriptions are not automatic and depend on clinician evaluation.
Do you offer therapy?
We focus on medication management and clinical care. We can recommend therapy and may coordinate with therapy providers when appropriate.
