Before the visit
You'll book through our patient portal and complete a brief intake. The intake asks about your symptoms, history, current medications, and what brought you in. You'll find a quiet, private place for the visit and join from your phone, tablet, or computer at the scheduled time.
It helps to have ready:
- A list of current medications and doses
- Notes on your symptoms and when they started
- Any prior mental health treatment or diagnoses
- Questions you want to ask
During the visit
The first visit is focused on evaluation. Your clinician will ask about:
- Your current symptoms and how they affect daily life
- Stress, sleep, energy, and concentration
- Past treatment and what has or has not worked
- Other medical conditions and medications
- Substance use, when relevant
- Safety concerns
- Your goals for care
This is a conversation, not a quiz. There is no wrong answer. Honesty helps your clinician give you the best care plan.
Building your care plan
By the end of the visit, you and your clinician will discuss:
- Whether medication may be appropriate
- Therapy or coaching recommendations
- Follow-up timing
- Any labs or additional evaluation that might help
Medication is not automatic. If it is appropriate, your clinician will explain the reasoning, what to watch for, and follow-up needs. Same-day prescription routing may be available when clinically appropriate.
After the visit
You'll have a follow-up scheduled before you finish, usually within 2 to 6 weeks depending on the plan. Prescriptions (if any) are routed to your pharmacy. You can message your clinician through the patient portal between visits for non-urgent questions.
If you need urgent help
Seavaint Health is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger, having thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, or in a mental health crisis, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
